is a safety from thieves and destruction of property by fire. Also,
keeping this surah in one’s possession ensures safety from the evil
designs of enemies.

Surah al-Fatihah is both ‘Makki’ and ‘Madani’ i.e. and there are seven verses (chapter) in. It was exposed in both Makkah and Medina. According to Majma’ul Bayan the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that the person who recites this surah, he will get the incentive for reciting two thirds (2/3) of the whole Qur’an. He also will get the reward equivalent to what would be gained by giving charity to all the believing men and women in the world.

A companion of Holy Prophet (PBUH) once recited this surah in the presence of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Prophet said, ‘By Him in whose hand is my soul, a similar revelation to this has not been included in the Taurait (Torah), Injeel (Bible), Zabur (Psalms) or even the Qur’an itself.’
Surah Yaseen has 83 verses and it is ‘makki’. According to Majma’ul Bayan the person who recites surah Yaseen exclusively for in search of the happiness of Allah (s.w.t.), all of his sins will be forgiven and he will be given reward the same to the reward of reciting the whole Qur’an 12 times. The angels also take part in his funeral rites. If this surah is recited near a person on his deathbed, then for each letter recited, 12 angels are sent to pray for his forgiveness and they remain even when the soul is being taken by the Angel of Death.

The sixth Imam, Imam Ja’far Sadiq (A.S.) said that after writing it in a mixture of rose water and saffron for seven days and then drinking this surah (it has to be written once for each day) makes a person have such a good memory that he will never forget what he hears and he will win debates and will gain great respect and status. Keeping surah Yaseen in one’s possession as a talisman acts as a protection from the jealousy of people. If given to a woman, her breast-milk will increase. The wearer remains safe from the evil designs of men and Jinn. It also acts as a cure from disease.

In another telling, this surah has been explained as the solution to all good in this life and in after life and a safety from all evil in this life and in the hereafter. If recited near a person who is on the verge of passing away, then an angel brings a drink for the dying person from Jannah and as he drinks of it, he feels greatly eased. Needs are rewarded if asked after the recitation of Surah Yaseen and the reward for its recitation is also compared to performing twenty hajj pilgrimages.

Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (A.S.) said that the person who recited Surah Yaseen in morning will be sheltered from all disasters and problems during the day and the person who recites it at nighttime will be protected from Shaytan (evil) by seventy (70) thousand angels.
Recitation of Surah Yaseen saves from the squeezing of the grave and its other torments. Passing the difficult stages in the afterlife will also be made easy for him.
Surah-Ar-Rahman is ‘Makki’ and it hashas 78 verses and it. Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said that Surah-Ar-Rahman removes hypocrisy from one’s heart and reciting Surah-Ar-Rahman on Friday after the dawn prayers carries great reward.

Allah (s.w.t.) will then tell him to point out those people who used to recite this surah and he will name them. The Imam (a.s.) also said that if a person dies after reciting Surah-Ar-Rahman, then is considered a martyr. Writing Surah-Ar-Rahman on the house walls, keeps away all types of household vermin. If recited at night, then Allah (s.w.t.) sends an angel to guard the reciting person until he wakes up and if recited in the daytime then an angel guards him until sunset.
Writing this surah and keeping it makes all difficulties and problems vanish and also cure eye ailments.
Surah al-Baqarah is a ‘Madani’ surah i.e. and it has 286 verses and it was revealed in Madina. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said the person who recites the first four verses of surah al-Baqarah, accompanied by the ‘Ayatul Kursi’ together with the last three verses of this surah – and makes a habit of reciting these verses daily – his life, property and family will be protected and no evil shall come upon them. Shaitan (evil) will not come close to him and he will not be from those who forget Allah (s.w.t.).
Surah al-Baqarah is the longest surah in the Holy Qur’an.
In this surah, there are a total of 200 verses and it was revealed in Madina. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) has said that whoever recites surah Ale-Imran on Friday, then until the setting of the sun, he will be showered by the Mercy of Allah (s.w.t.) and the angels will beg for his forgiveness.
